Worth the Drive

Three generations on Main Street in Society Hill, South Carolina. Same building, same town, same people who’ll drive a sofa to your door.

For three generations, Palmetto Furniture Company has anchored Main Street in Society Hill, South Carolina. We opened our doors in 1937 and we’re still family-owned. The same building. The same town. The same people who answer the phone, walk the floor with you, and load the truck themselves.

We carry 32 brands — La-Z-Boy, Bassett, Universal, Best Chairs, England, Craftmaster, Riverside, Vaughan-Bassett, Wildwood, Uttermost, and a couple dozen more — because furniture isn’t a single style. Our showroom runs back further than it looks. Living rooms for kids and grandparents. Bedrooms with solid-wood frames that get passed down with the house. Dining tables that seat six on Tuesday and ten on Christmas. Mattresses you can lie down on before you commit. Outdoor sets that survive South Carolina summers.

You walk the floor. You sit in the recliners. You ask questions. You go home with the right piece — or you call us in three days and we’ll deliver it.

That’s why people drive an hour from Florence, two hours from Columbia, three hours from Charleston. Worth the drive since 1937.

How we work

Every piece on our showroom is one we’d put in our own homes. We’ve sat in every recliner, opened every drawer, checked every joint. Our buyers visit High Point twice a year and we don’t carry anything our delivery crew wouldn’t be proud to put in your living room.

Pricing is transparent. No “compare-at” theater, no fake markdowns. Delivery covers the Pee Dee region and well beyond — we’ve delivered to Charleston, Columbia, Asheville, and a place in Wilmington that took six hours each way. Custom orders take six to twelve weeks depending on the maker; we’ll tell you up front and call you the day it ships.

Where we are

319 N Main St, Society Hill, SC 29593. Exit 169 off I-95, then ten minutes west. Free parking out front and behind the building. The yellow brick storefront is the original; the showroom keeps going.
